SOUVENIR PROGRAM BOOK INFORMATION
Each year the Rotary National Award for Space Achievement (RNASA) offers corporations and organizations the opportunity to show their support for the awards program and to congratulate the National Space Trophy winner and the Stellar Award nominees through placement of a congratulatory ad in a souvenir program book that is distributed to the attendees of the banquet. In addition to a detailed profile of the National Space Trophy winner and citations of the Stellar Award nominees, the book contains profiles of the presenters, the evening's agenda, information on the RNASA Board of Advisors, Committee, previous Trophy winners, and recognition of the Stellar Award judges and event sponsors. Sample books from previous years are available (see below) on request.
About 1,100 copies of the 8.5x11-inch saddle-stapled souvenir programs are printed and distributed at the galas, providing wonderful keepsakes for the attendees.
Half and full-page placements are available in the books on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations for congratulatory ads are accepted between January and mid-March with specific deadlines dependent on the date of the event and ad materials due a few weeks later. The deadline for reserving ad space for the 2012 book honoring Mike Coats is March 9 with materials due March 23, 2012. Please use the 2012 Table Reservation Form to reserve space. Marianne Dyson will send an Advertising Confirmation Form with the materials specifications. Please direct any questions to Marianne Dyson (dyson@rnasa.org), 281-486-4747 (in Houston).
Advertisers, please note that while NASA imagery is not copyrighted, there are restrictions on the use of recognizable persons, particularly when done in a commercial context. Specifically, if the National Space Trophy (NST) winner is an active duty government employee, their government title (i.e. Director, NASA Johnson Space Center) and official photo cannot be used in the congratulatory advertisement, but their name and honorific (Capt., Mr., or National Space Trophy Winner) may be used. This restriction does not apply to media announcements about the award. For more information, please see the NASA photo use and advertising guidelines. RNASA will supply approved photos of NST winners to news media on request.
An original painting of the Trophy winner by a professional artist is commissioned each year and adorns the cover of the book. (The framed portrait is displayed at the banquet and then with the National Space Trophy at Space Center Houston.)
See the Tables & Tickets page for information on attending the black-tie banquet, and the Agenda page for times and speakers.
Corporate support of the Rotary National Award for Space Achievement Foundation is most appreciated.
